Sixth Grade Social Dance
The 6th Grade Dance and Etiquette Program has been a tradition for Carlisle 6th graders for many years. Classes will take place at Ellen’s School of Dance in Billerica over a series of four classes on Friday afternoons. Buses leave the Carlisle School at 5:15 pm and return to Carlisle around 7:30 pm.
The dance portion of the program will cover the basic principles of the waltz, rhumba and swing and they will also be doing some general group and line dances. The etiquette portion will be covering receiving lines, dining, letter writing, telephone manners, technology etiquette and common daily courtesies. The programs are formatted to be fun and informative while promoting students self esteem and enjoyment of dance and the arts.
It promises to be a fun time for all, great exercise, and an opportunity for the Class of 2024 to bond in-person not via social media! We also hope it will strengthen the kids’ performing arts skills and build the confidence of students who will be participating in next year’s Seventh Grade play. As a bonus, they’ll learn good manners…!
Parent Chaperones are needed at each class! Please email the Coordinator, Emily Sprong, directly if you are interested in helping.
To register, please click on the blue Social Dance Registration button above and fill out the information form. Checks for $135 (which includes instruction and bus transportation) can be mailed to Emily Sprong at 549 Bedford Road or dropped off in the PTO mailbox in the school's main office.
